SHOWCASE 5. CELL 5-12

J-48-A - An oval-based metal straight key mounted on an olive drab wrinkle finished base with matching cover which was held in place by two screws. Though J-48-A shape resembled J-37 and J-38 keys, its metal parts made it quite a special design. Coil spring used to return key lever resembled the one of J-38. 

J-48-A key was firmly attached to the front cover of BC-654-A radio (P/O SCR-284) and had a short cable terminated with PL-55, a 1/4" phone plug. Our BC-654-A is on display in Showcase No.2.
