Fu 16
(full identification Fu 16 SE 10 U) was self-propelled
artillery 10-watt VHF radio set consisting of Ukw.E.h receiver and 10 W.S.h
transmitter. Used for communications between self-propelled artillery vehicles
and army commanders. No communications to tank regiments supported because in
Wehrmacht self-propelled artillery was part of regular army field troops (Heer).
Receiver
and transmitter of Fu 16 were looking exactly the same as
Ukw.E.e and 10 W.S.c of tank Fu 5 radio set. The
differences between Fu 5 and Fu 16 were in
operating frequencies (Fu 5 covered 27.2…33.3 MHz)
and in additional LSG (Fu) b loudspeaker which was
characteristic of Fu 16 only.
